Those who think hunger is not a problem in the US might read this article from the Boston Globe. Hunger has more than doubled in low-income areas, By April Simpson, November 15, 2006.

"Between 2002 and 2005, hunger more than doubled in low income communities across Massachusetts because of poverty and the high cost of living, a local advocacy group told state lawmakers yesterday."

Thanks for posting that. One of the things I have been learning recently is there is a real, no kdding divide between have and have nots in the US (I was aware on a peripheral level before, but never really brought home)... and that divide IS growing.

If budgets are moral documents, we need to seriously think about the budgets of our local, state, and Federal governments from a different perspective.
