Giving Donations

Its so unfair that I have as much as I do and there are people who have nothing.  And even so I am still never truly sastisfied with everything I have.  I leave food on my plate, I always want more clothes, and so forth.  So in the mists of my selfishness I really feel that I need to give to those who are less fortunate.  I want to begin donating money, however I have heard that there are many dontation programs out there that take a majority of the money donated and keep it for their company (understandably).  I am simply wondering if anyone might know of a company that sends alot of the money donated and keeps only a small portion.  Thanks for any information :)

Hi la.belle, I think giving is one of the best things that lots of us can do to help others in need. You are very smart to want to do research before giving money. Check out give.org. This is resource provided by better business bureau. They give reports on non-profits. Also check out heifer.org. Heifer is doing amazing work ending poverty. We give to them monthly and for holidays. You can buy a "flock of chicks" to give someone as a present. This is a symbolic gift that helps a family escape poverty by providing sustainable living.
