When celebrities do right, good things happen
A Manifesto…
We won’t deny it — we love celebrities. While no one would argue that they receive an undue amount of attention in our culture, as a nation we are obsessed with the comings and goings of these often vain, self-destructive and publicity-seeking creatures. Yes, we sometimes watch Entertainment Tonight, and know that Brad and Angelina are having their baby, and that Britney and Kevin bought their baby a new highchair at Wal-Mart, and we wonder “Why do we care?” Yet, there are many who actually do something positive, or even world changing with their undue, unelected, and vast power. Some are politically engaged, articulate and passionate advocates for change.
This blog is all about Celebrities and Cultural entities committed to ending Hunger and Poverty. It's also about events, products, fundraisers centered around the end hunger movement — our hope is to funnel the large interest in celebrities into an interest and engagement in the end hunger movement, and have a little fun on the way.
