I'm a 30something writer who is new to the hunger arena, but familiar with the cause. For the past 14 years, I spent my life living and working as journalist/translator in one of the world's most socially injust countries: Brazil. There it is common to see children begging for food at a restaurant or peddling candy to support their families, making hunger and poverty in-your-face societal issues. Back stateside, I look forward to exploring the root causes of these worldwide phenomena.
